Mads Bjorn Petersen (Sam) immigrated to the U.S. from Denmark in 1977 and
bought his first truck in 1980. He drove as an owner operator for 10 years, before he founded M. Bjorn Petersen
Transportation Inc. in 1989.
Sam's Scandinavian shines through, in the way he has been managing his
fleet over the years. Since 1986 he has not owned a truck without an
Espar Heater System. You will never find a Petersen truck idling. Not only are we protecting the environment, but we
are also saving approximately $3000.00 per truck per year.
Sam is also the dealer for Espar in New Mexico and Arizona. In 1998 he started Espar
Southwest in Phoenix, AZ and opened a 2nd service center in Nogales,
AZ in 2004 to service the northern part of Mexico.
